Dinnington Youth Theatre was formed in June 2001 by
Projects in Theatre Skills.
The aim of the theatre is to provide a venue to enable young
people to take part in performing arts through a series of
workshops and performances. Funding for the theatre came from
RMBC Crime Reduction Programme. This money paid for rehearsal
facilities for the group, as well as money to pay for their
first two productions.
The Youth Theatre meets once a week at the Middleton Institute,
on Barleycroft Lane in Dinnington. The cost of the theatre
is £1 per week, which goes towards the running costs
of the group.
Since it's formation the Youth Theatre have produced three
shows in their own right, and supported the
Dinnington Comprehensive School
in their Lower School Production of Evacuees.
We have just finnished our lastest show - Angus,
Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging.
